Dr Silvia Pepino is an economist, independent board director and technology founder. Her work has taken her across global financial markets, investment management and central banking, and into corporate boards, academia and technology entrepreneurship.
Her career has included senior roles at J.P. Morgan, Brevan Howard and the Bank of England, board positions in financial services and energy, and the founding of GlobeEye, an R&D company using satellite data, alternative data and AI to develop environmental intelligence. She is currently an Independent Director at BancoPosta Fondi SGR and a Visiting Senior Fellow in International Political Economy at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Her work brings together macroeconomics and global markets, international political economy, geopolitics and geoeconomics, monetary and financial policy, financial stability and macroprudential policy, and AI, satellite data and the space economy.

Her research examines how financial markets, public policy, technology and institutions interact in the global economy. It spans geopolitics and geoeconomic fragmentation, sovereign and systemic risk, financial stability and macroprudential policy, AI and geospatial intelligence in environmental and economic governance, financial innovation and the financing of innovation and investment.
Author of Sovereign Risk and Financial Crisis: The International Political Economy of the Eurozone, published by Palgrave Macmillan.
